Stains, a dirty inconvenience that no one wants to deal with. The side effect of being careless with your food, drink, or art medium, the definition of stain is a"mark with colored patches or dirty marks that are not easily removed." However, I wanted to portray something normally thought of as negative, stains, in a positive light. A stain usually has a unique pattern due to the random nature in which they are formed.
I gathered images of various stains and transferred them onto twenty canvases. Just placing the stains in the right place gave them beauty but I also decorated them with threads, beads, and sequins to further emphasize each stain's characteristics. With this piece, I hope to convince people that perhaps the things they view as bad are just being viewed in the wrong light or situation.
