Though there are not only two emotions, I think emotions can be broadly categorized as either positive or negative. To emphasize the contrast, volatility, and ambivalence of emotions, I created pottery which includes three sides with negative words and cool colors and three sides with positive words and warm colors.
The colors of the sides match the tone of the words on them. The pottery consists of six sides: twelve small sections. I got this patchwork idea from fabric swatches I have collected. Additionally, my pottery can be used as a vase, showing the brighter sides as the flowers blossom and the darker sides as the flowers wither.
The vase has different meanings from different angles, making it versatile and adaptable, just like human emotions. The words on the bright sides of the vase are loving, excited, happy, and dreamy and on the opposite side are gloomy, angry, frustrated, and annoyed.
