Tailoring muslin
Pellon fusible interfacing
Made of 100% muslin. This project is an experimentation of fabric manipulation with different weights of muslin. The top piece resembles the roots of the branch, shaped by putting thin ropes under the muslin and fixed with glue. Fully draped and dried on the figure. The middle part is intended to look like the watering process of the roots. Dots ½” apart, horizontally and vertically, are measured and marked before hand-stitching certain dots together to get the result. The vaselike shape of the skirt is pattern-made and structured by Pellon fusible interfacing. The texture, resembling berries on a plant, is created by rolling wet tissues and tying the balls in place.
